Test Your Might

The comical part of Mortal Kombat’s “Test Your Might” minigame is that it didn’t really test your strength at all. The only intangible being pushed to its limit was your patience. You had to sit there and pound your controller into oblivion until the “test” was over. If your character broke the board of wood then you gained points I think. It was ultimately meaningless. Video games back in the day. Such a treasured passtime of mine. I recently looked at buying a Wii so I could have some good old Nintendo fun but deemed its cost prohibitive for my current situation.

Well of course I’m working the shift of champions today and then Thursday. 6-9:30. I guess it’s technically seven hours. Anyway, my boss asked me today if he needed me to switch with Sheree because the store had to open at 9. Now obviously he’s been in contact with the DM. Either they talked about my “thing” and Luis decided this was a good time to rib me or he’s just generally dense and unaware of what goes on in his store. I consider the second most likely. Well me working Sundays has always been a sore subject. It’s good money. I’m guaranteed to work with Sheree usually. It gets me out of the house. So then another coworker asked if I could cover her shift. Only problem is that I’d have to trade one of mine. You know. That usually works out well. A keyholder trading a shift with a worker bee. Especially when I only have one other shift, which she can’t work. So it goes to someone else. Pushing the work buttons I see. Thanks.

I know I gotta have faith about this work situation. Nothing usually happens over the weekends. Interview on Monday still by the way. Hopefully something will come down the pipeline too in regards to promotion training. Let’s wait and see :)

Tonight I have Girlfriends DVD copying to look forward to. Saturday Night!
